**FINAL PLACEMENT IS MADE BY INSTRUCTORS AND BASED ON SKILL LEVEL.
Once a dancer turns 7, our goal is to place our dancers according to skill level instead of age. We believe that a dancer receives the best training when they are in the appropriate class for their skill level. The first two weeks of the semester are used for evaluation purposes. We always want our dancers to be challenged and to grow to their full potential. All instructors will make sure individual dancers are placed in the group that best suits their needs for each individual style/genre. Our instructors can quickly identify the correct level per individual dancer. Dancers will be evaluated by our staff & we will be sure to let you know if they would be a better fit in a different class after their first or second week. Please contact us with any questions concerning registration. New students can join us for a Summer Class or Camp to receive placement recommendations for Fall!
All Level 1,2 & 3 Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical/Contemporary & Hip Hop classes learn a routine for the Spring Recital.
Pre-Pointe/Pointe
Dancers for this class will be by instructor invitation/placement only. Dancers taking Pre-Pointe/Pointe in Pointe shoes will be required to take two Ballet classes (Levels assigned by instructor) in addition to Pointe class.
Dancers will wear shoes assigned on an individual basis (Technique or Pointe) by instructor.
Dancers new to Pointe will need a professional fitting at a local dance-wear store or should be prepared to meet the instructor at store for initial Pointe shoe purchase. This is to insure a proper fit.
Tumble/Acrobatic Classes
Tumble/Acro classes are divided into three levels from ages 7 & up. These classes are divided based on skill level/maturity. The instructors will be using the first several weeks of classes to make sure everyone is placed in the right class for their individual needs. As a general "Rule of Thumb" for registration purposes, it is always best to place your student in a lower level. Students always love to hear that they are moving to a more advanced level after being evaluated! For a general idea of the skill level of our Tumble/Acro classes, see the descriptions below for a brief list of some skills that are covered in each level. Students are expected to master all skills before moving on to the next level.
All Tumble classes learn a routine for the Spring Recital.
Tumble/Acro Level 1: This class is for Beginning students or students with some experience that still need to master basic skills like: Cartwheels, One-hand cartwheels (both sides), Standing back- bend, Kickovers, Hand- stands
Tumble/Acro Level 2: This class is for Intermediate students that have a solid basic foundation of Level 1 skills and are ready to move on to mastering skills like: Walkover variations, Arabians, Chin-stands, Aerials

Ballet & Dance Technique Classes
Ballet & Dance Technique are both divided into two classes based on skill level. Instructors will aways be sure to place students in the correct class if they are not registered for the best class to suit their individual needs. See details below for brief descriptions of each class to help with registration.
Ballet & Dance Technique- This class is designed to place extreme focus on perfecting technique in skills that are used in Ballet & multiple genres of dance like extensions, turns and jumps/leaps, alignment, strength & balance. Students also focus on stretching techniques to increase flexibility in the hips, back, hamstrings and feet to improve their technical level as a dancer.
**The Technique classes do not learn a routine to perform in the Spring Recital. All of the time in class is strictly focused on improving their technical skill level as a dancer.**
